More People Invited To ‘Counter-Strike 2’ Limited Test

adminBy adminSeptember 9, 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

Valve has announced that a new wave of invitations to the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test have been sent out to players, meaning the closed beta for the new game is being opened up even further.

The news of a new invite wave comes just a week or so after the Limited Test was opened up to a much larger part of the community. Last week Valve announced that loads of new players had been invited to the Limited Test providing they met some basic requirements.

To be invited to the Limited Test you must have Prime status in CS:GO, an active skill group and have the majority of your matches on Valve servers in a region where the test is available. When these criteria were announced last week many players who typically play on third-party services such as FACEIT were annoyed as many did not have an in-game skill group and therefore did not qualify for an invite. However, now with the new wave of invites many of the people who got a rank in the days since the last wave will be given access to the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test.

To check if you have been given access to the Limited Test in this new wave of invites you’ll need to boot up CS:GO and if you have access you will be met with a pop-up message on the main menu telling you that you have got in. From there you can install the Limited Test and will be on your way to playing the game for the first time.

As well as opening up CS2 to more people, Valve has been very active with updates this week. There have been four patches to CS2 in the last week, changing a variety of things from map changes to matchmaking tweaks and even fixes for cooked chickens.

While this is Valve and we can never be sure what the company will do, by opening up the CS2 Limited Test to even more people and increasing the frequency of patches it would seem that we are getting very close to a full release. If these invite waves keep happening it should only be a short amount of time before all of the player base will have access, and with the frequent patches, it seems the devs are trying to get everything fixed and in an acceptable state to launch as soon as possible.
